Oracle CBO changes between 9i and 10g

Any Oracle DBA responsible for managing a Siebel application should read this excellent whitepaper describing changes in the Cost Based Optimizer (CBO) between Oracle 9i and 10g.

The blog written by the engineering group responsible for the optimizer within Oracle is also worth subscribing to.

site housekeeping

The site has been upgraded to Drupal 6.0 RC3 and user registrations have been re-enabled.

Comments and user registrations were originally configured but subsequently disabled as hundreds of eager spammers were the only interested parties.

However, blogging is as much about the reader as the author so comments and user registrations are back following a request from a reader.

The FCKEditor module has also been enabled for authenticated users.
